A beautiful serene oasis in the midst of the bustling city of Denver, Cherry Creek Lake and State Park offers a relaxing escape for its many users. The skyline of the city and distant mountains create a spectacular landscape all around the lake.
Biking, hiking, and skating are all popular ways to unwind, and the 35 miles of trails, with 15 miles paved, allow for many to take advantage of these exercise-related outlets. In the winter months, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing are common and popular.

For the birdwatcher, there are several nature areas where you may spot white pelicans, bald eagles, water fowl, and a variety of song birds.  A large area for your dog to run off-leash, a horse stable, a family shooting range, an amphitheater and a model airplane field round out the on-land recreational possibilities.
For water lovers, Cherry Creek Lake allows swimming, boating, skiing or tubing, and has a marina with assorted watercraft rentals. For the fisherman, catch your limit in walleye, trout, crappie, bass, perch, bluegill, and more.

And if you are the socialite, there are group picnic shelters available to rent for family gatherings, work parties, or other special events.  Finally, with new modern camping sites (reservations recommended 303-470-1144), you can stay for a spell and experience true relaxation.
Cherry Creek Lake and State Park has something for everyone, and it fills to capacity in the summer months. Be sure to make your plans, secure your reservations, and arrive early!
