Sandy Beach Area

Campground Reservations The Sandy Beach boat ramp is accessed via a nicely paved road, and the ramp itself is very wide. There is a dock for easy loading and unloading of passengers and gear. The parking area is large and pit toilets are available. Camping is allowed near the boat ramp, and each site has a picnic table and fire ring. The sites are on the water’s edge. Sandy Beach Campground is large and has three camping areas. All three have accessible sites for tent and RV, electric/water hook-ups for RVs, and picnic tables and fire rings at each site. There is a large tent area with level sand pads for your tent. Additional sites are located right on the water, but these have no hook-ups. Reservations are required for the campground, and we were told it fills up in the summer. So, make your plans and reserve your spot as early as you can. We saw pit toilets, dumpsters, water spigots and huge trees along the water. The beach area was shaded in the afternoon, so perfect for those who are wanting to get a break from the sun. The sites were gravel but fairly level. The RV holding tank dump station is located near the South Entrance of the park.
